Write to your heart's content with this garden of blooms in the palm of your hands! This peony fabric journal with a gorgeous design that was adapted from the museum's original Peony hanging shade made by Tiffany Studios circa 1899–1904, and designed by Clara Driscoll, (1861-1944). The lamp’s cone-shaped shade depicts vibrant Peony flowers in full bloom, with the flower petals and leaves rendered in colorful mottled and rippled glass.
Louis Comfort Tiffany (1848-1933) is celebrated today as one of the most influential designers of the late 19th and early 20th centuries. Information revealed in recently discovered letters suggests that Tiffany designer Clara Driscoll (1861-1944), actually designed most of Tiffany's leaded glass lamps, many of his objets d'art, and supervised the execution of many of his most celebrated leaded windows and mosaics. Her passion for the natural world and refined design sense is unmistakable in the popular peony design featured on this fabric journal.
