Handmade with all natural Guinea feathers on signature grosgrain fabric and barrel stitching, this handsome pocket square by Brackish is in a league of its own. Made to fit any pocket size, you can wear it parallel to your pocket, or with one corner creating a "peak" popping out. Control how much of the feather panel shows by pushing it deeper into the pocket. Pair this crowd-pleaser with a coordinating feather tie or let it stand apart styled with neutral accessories.
The New-York Historical Society exhibition, Feathers: Fashion and the Fight for Wildlife, is the inspiration for the NYHistory Store's merchandise featuring ethically and sustainably sourced feathers. The exhibition, exploring the history of the ground-breaking Migratory Bird Treaty Act of 1918, examines the circumstances that inspired early environmentalists—many of them women and New Yorkers—to champion the protection of endangered birds. It regulated the nation’s commercial plume trade, which had decimated many American bird species to the point of near extinction. On view April 6 - July 15, 2018.
