A Flight of Birds a Quiz Deck of Avian Collective Nouns

$ 9.95

Sold Out

The idea of collective nouns—a murder of crows, a gaggle of geese—traces back to the fifteenth century and the English aristocracy’s terms of venery: gentlemanly words used during the pursuit of the hunt. Today, well, things have gotten a bit cheeky. (A dropping of pigeons, anyone?) Here we’ve collected a mass of nouns that describe forty-eight birds—some fanciful, some “official,” some simply to make us giggle. By no means scientific but definitely a lot of fun, this quiz deck easily becomes a game.

Guess the word that fills in the blank on the front of a card, or make up a new one that’s not listed on the back. You really can’t lose when you play around in this fun corner of the English language.
