Description

This set of 4 absorbent coasters give vivid life to the time just a century ago when American women took to the streets to secure the right to vote. The Woman Suffrage Party was a political union of existing small suffrage societies whose aim was to secure the submission of a woman suffrage amendment to the New York State Constitution and its adoption at the polls. New York women gained suffrage in 1917, and American women won full voting rights in 1920, with the ratification of the Nineteenth Amendment.

The museum's coaster set is inspired by the original felt "Votes For Women" campaign pennant (1910-1920) in the collection, and is made exclusively for the New-York Historical Society Museum Store.

Set of four round coasters in gift box.
Sandstone, cork; each coaster measures 4 inches diameter
