This Friday, from 12 noon until 8PM the NYHistory Store will host our bi-annual Designing Women Market in the Smith Gallery and we hope you’ll come by to enjoy the event.
Designing Women Market is a day-long marketplace to showcase exceptional products by women makers, designers, and entrepreneurs. You’ll be able to meet, chat, and shop for unique gifts with the women who make them. Our participants are among a select number of women designers we respect and admire for both their success and for the quality of the products they bring to the marketplace. Our Designing Women produce a unique range of jewelry, textiles, accessories, and more.
The NYHistory Store believes that the interaction between history lovers who support our business and the women producers living out their stories of creativity and commerce is a positive demonstration that we each make history matter every day.
The Designing Women Market is free to the public. Market visitors should check in at the DWM registration table near the N-YHS main entrance. Guests will be issued a badge giving them access to the market in the Smith Gallery on the 1st floor. If market visitors wish to visit the galleries they will need to purchase tickets. 2 for 1 admission will be offered to guests who spend $25 at the market.
Bonus to DWM Guests!
Designing Women Market visitors will also have free access to viewings of our new film from the Center for Women’s History titled "We Rise." Narrated by Meryl Streep and featuring the song "We Are Here" written and composed by Alicia Keys, "We Rise" places women at the center of political thought and action that reshaped the country in the early 20th century.
