Gladys "Rosa" Perez

Gladys "Rosa" Perez is a master Ebru artist who studied this ancient Chinese, paper marbling technique for more than 25 years. She blends this ancient technique with her own modern sensibility to create striking mirrors, tables, designer frames, and large scale pieces for commercial and residential spaces.

For the past year, Rosa has focused on repurposing leather, textiles and other materials which she refers to as, “left-overs” to create one-of-a-kind accessories and home décor designs.

Rosa teaches her craft has taught populations with special needs populations in New York City at United Cerebral Palsy and Hope Community Development, NYC. She also works as a freelance artists creating large scale Ebru installations for Architectural Digest, Inc, New York, NY; Carl Gordon Studio, Brooklyn, New York; Sublime, New York, New York; and Richard Smith Studios, Brooklyn, New York

Her work has been exhibited at. among many venues, the Art Students League of New York, the New York Public Library; and the Consulates of Argentina, Peru, and Venezuela; She attended the University of Buenos Aires, Buenos Aires, where she majored in Philosophy & Arts; and at the Institute Cen 98, Buenos Aires, where she studied Social Development Work.
