Trusted with the protection and preservation of a selection of the New-York Historical Society’s most treasured objects, these lightly used exhibition cases are of the highest quality materials and structural integrity. Two available sizes (see Case Variables on Drawing and Dimensions PDF) allow for a variety of display types and designs, including larger stand-alone objects. A pedestal of Ultralight medium density fiberboard (MDF) panels creates a sturdy base that is lighter and easier to move than typical MDF material. The case is topped with a five sided vitrine of ¼” clear acrylic, ensuring an unimpaired view that is accessible from every angle. A 1/8” x 1/8” chamfer and solvent joints lend to the clarity and cleanliness of the overall display. Exhibited objects rest on a removable interior deck of ½” MEDEX . A gasket around the perimeter helps to seal the case, while an interior brace lends additional support to the interior deck. Please note that the cases are not free standing.
All cases sold have an exterior painted B. Moore Aura Eggshell: 1623 and an interior deck painted B. Moore 2122-40 matte, but can be easily repainted. Shipping can be arranged through the NYHS, though outside shipping arrangements are encouraged.
