A railing that bore witness to history has inspired this modern arrow necklace featuring a detail from the Federal Hall balustrade where George Washington was inaugurated as first President of the United States.
On April 30, 1789, President Washington stood behind the newly installed balustrade for his inauguration, the center of which was elegant and symbolic. A section of thirteen arrows, one for each state in the new republic, all distinct and all united, provides the signature design feature of our Federal Hall Balustrade Jewelry Collection.
Created exclusively for the New-York Historical Society by Manhattan jewelry designer Cynthia Gale.
