Wear your love of history in our exclusive safety-minded family face mask. This comfortable face covering shows how Americans of a century ago faced the pandemic of their day.
The 1918 influenza pandemic was, until today, the most severe pandemic in recent history. Then, as now, the best methods the public had to help prevent the spread of the virus were good hygiene, social distancing, and wearing masks. Photography of the era captures everyone from police officers to telephone operators to street cleaners wearing masks to help ward off the disease. Public health advertisements recommending masks appealed to the population’s patriotism to encourage the practice.
Pictured on our vintage photo mask, a family in Dublin, California took this entirely to heart and appears to have provided masks for everyone, even the family cat.
Face covering is washable and reusable, made of two layers of fabric with soft ear loops.
Pocketed design allows for insertion of additional filtration.
