Cook in style with our Louis C. Tiffany Magnolia Apron! Tailored in durable heavyweight 100% cotton twill, our full length aprons feature soft cotton ties and an easily adjustable neck strap in colors that compliment the design. Two roomy pockets keep utensils close at hand. One size fits most. With white floral blooms and details of the magnolia branches, this apron blends beauty and utility.
Louis Comfort Tiffany used drapery glass to create natural-looking magnolia petals and creatively employed the lead lines as the twigs and branches of the tree. Tiffany designers, working from studies of flowers in various stages of bloom, took great care to render nature realistically.
The apron design is inspired by Tiffany Studios' (1848-1933) Magnolia window panels, ca. 1885. Now in the permanent collection of the The Charles Hosmer Morse Museum of American Art, the three leaded-glass window panels initially graced the library of Tiffany's 72nd street home in New York City. Later they served as a transition between indoors and outdoors in the dining room of his long island estate, Laurelton Hall.
