Study of an Orchid Puzzle

$ 9.95

    Martin Johnson Heade (1819-1904), who produced magnificent studies of tropical flowers, was one of a group of painters developing a distinctly American vision of the landscape. Their powerful interpretations of American scenery came to be known as The Hudson River School.

    Heade's spectacular 1872 "Study of an Orchid" has been reproduced on our travel-size jigsaw puzzle. The image is a dazzling example of his inventive compositions. His fascination with hummingbirds' quivering movements and jewel-like plumage prompted his series of small pictures, which poetically combines Heade’s interests in botany, birds, and landscape.
