Add a bit of history to your jewelry collection! From antique coins, this necklace features the image from the Walking Liberty coin cast into a medallion in silver metal clay: they are then plated with 22K gold.
Created for the New-York Historical Society and inspired by Walking Liberty coin in the museum’s collection. This half dollar was issued by the U.S. Mint from 1916 to 1947. Considered to be the most beautiful U.S. coin by many art historians, the design features Lady Liberty striding toward the dawn of a new day holding branches of oak and laurel symbolizing civil and military glory. The hand of the figure is outstretched in bestowal of the spirit of liberty.
