Camille at the Wheel

Camille at the Wheel is a collection of handmade, wheel-thrown ceramics with a bent towards beautiful utility. The ceramic studio, owned and operated by Camille Beckles, aims to bring users joy and usefulness, in equal measure.
Camille carves and textures every pot by hand, making each piece one-of-a-kind. She chooses not to measure patterns as she carves. Actively selecting each stroke keeps her engaged in the moment. The resulting details and textures of her pots gently demand a user’s attention, inviting their touch and elevating their daily rituals.
Camille’s work has been featured in West Elm, Starbucks, Architectural Digest, and more. Outside of her studio, Camille has taught workshops at the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York City, and the Lewis Latimer House Museum. In 2023, she was commissioned alongside 17 other ceramicists to contribute work to Nekisha Durrett’s Queen City, a permanent public art installation in Arlington, VA. Most recently, she modeled her work for Artistic Tile’s “Bringing Art to Life” campaign. Camille practices pottery at a shared studio in New York City.
