Melissa Lockhart is the founder of Melda Moda, a Brooklyn-based brand dedicated to helping women build rest rituals through sleepwear and sound. The pajama prints are inspired by her perspective as a Caribbean American woman, while the brand’s sleepwear and Slumber Sounds are designed to encourage rest and relaxation as acts of self-care.
Melissa spent over a decade in People Operations and HR before launching Melda Moda. While working at high-growth startups, she experienced firsthand the toll of burnout. Drawing from that experience, she developed Melda Moda to blend stylish loungewear with mindful rest practices. Each piece is designed for style and comfort and is complemented by custom Slumber Sounds—guided meditations and melodies that support relaxation.
