Betye Saar: Migrations / Transformations

Migrations/Transformations features seventeen mixed-media collages and assemblages by Betye Saar that transform objects into powerful reflections on African American history, memory, and identity. Drawing on the histories of migration and displacement from Africa to America, Saar recontextualizes found materials to evoke journeys of survival, cultural memory, and transformation.
