Here's your chance to have fun testing your knowledge of American civics, with 100 questions that US Citizenship and Immigration Services may ask anyone seeking to become a naturalized US citizen. At least six correct answers out of ten randomly chosen questions are required to pass the test. Could you make the grade? What are two rights in the Declaration of Independence? Who was the President during World War I? Name three of the original 13 states. More than just facts and figures, questions cover principles of democracy, rights and responsibilities, historical events from colonial days to the present, and national symbols, geography, and holidays. Some questions may have more than one answer; possible answers are provided on the backs of the cards.
With 48 fact-filled cards per package, Knowledge Cards are a great source of condensed information - all in a deck the size of a pack of playing cards.
THE CITIZENSHIP PROJECT
The New-York Historical Society is committed to telling the American story and fostering a community of learners to consider what it means to be an American, past and present. The Citizenship Project is New-York Historical's major initiative to help the green card holders in the New York region become American citizens through free civics and American history classes and other educational and digital learning tools. By using art and objects from our collection to put American history in context, the Citizenship Project creates a personal and dynamic educational experience beyond rote memorization. LEARN MORE about our free classes, educational programs, special installations, and family activities that examine the basic principles of our American Constitution and democratic institutions.
