Our splendid bookmark design was adapted from the "Magnolia Shade", a leaded glass and bronze lampshade made by Tiffany Studios circa 1903-1910, designed by Clara Driscoll, (1861-1944). This vibrant scarf features the distinctive patterns from the Lamp's cone-shaped shade depicting a beautiful floral background.
Louis Comfort Tiffany (1848-1933) is celebrated today as one of the most influential designers of the late 19th and early 20th centuries. Information revealed in recently discovered letters suggests that Tiffany designer Clara Driscoll, (1861-1944), actually designed most of Tiffany's leaded glass lamps, many of his objets d'art, and supervised the execution of many of his most celebrated leaded windows and mosaics. Her passion for the natural world and refined design sense is unmistakable in the popular magnolia design featured on this bookmark.
