Mrs. Pierre Toussaint, featured on this postcard, depicts the portrait of Juliette Noel Toussaint (c. 1786 – May 14, 1851). She was a formerly enslaved Haitian-American philanthropist who collaborated closely with her husband, Pierre Toussaint, in helping the poor and doing charitable works in downtown New York. The postcard commemorates the exhibition Revolutionary Women, on view May 29, 2026 - October 25, 2026.
