In New York City the Culper Spy Ring, a to-this-day quite mysterious group of three men and one women (her code name was agent "355") conducted early reconnaissance for the Revolutionaries. Of course, Nathan Hale is probably the best known, if most unfortunate, of those double 0-1776ers.
