Trim your tree with history! Our gleaming collectable keepsake ornament was made expressly for the 2016 launch of the New-York Historical Society annual ornament program. The Votes for Women Suffragists ornament will be right on, sister, making your tree bright and smart.
These bold women give vivid life to the time just a century ago when American women took to the streets to secure the right to vote. The Woman Suffrage Party was a political union of existing small suffrage societies whose aim was to secure the submission of a woman suffrage amendment to the New York State Constitution and its adoption at the polls. New York women gained suffrage in 1917, and American women won full voting rights in 1920, with the ratification of the Nineteenth Amendment.
